North Sonar S208 Stabilizer Black 2023

Flat, agile and fast, the new S208 Stabilizer is a powerful upgrade to the Sonar Foil System aimed at experienced riders. The S208 has a higher aspect ratio than the S210, resulting in less drag. The flatter front rounding allows for greater maneuverability. As we have expanded our range of front wings, we have also had to match the elevator force of the front wing to the stabilizer. While the front wing creates vertical elevator, the stabilizer generates a downward force to prevent the nose of the front wing from diving downward. A larger stabilizer creates more pressure on the forefoot, while a smaller stabilizer results in less pressure on the forefoot. The upper attachment of the stitches to the fuselage prevents turbulence caused by the flow of the front wing, resulting in a smoother ride. This upper attachment also provides early warning when breaching - the stitch cuts through the water surface first, giving more chance to recover before the forewing gets too high. Like the forewings, all Sonar Stabilizers are made of pre-preg carbon construction, providing optimal stiffness and instant performance. The thin profile reduces drag while the material maintains structural integrity and stiffness. Stabilizer size has a significant impact on performance. When using smaller wing sizes, it is recommended to switch to a smaller stabilizer for increased maneuverability. Experienced riders will really notice the difference.
