The Sonar High Aspect Front Wing series is optimized for maximum speed and efficiency across a variety of disciplines, ranging from kitefishing to recumbent foiling. This wing style requires minimal pumping and effort to get into gliding flight. The shorter chord length determines the profile of the wing, with a thin profile resulting in less drag. The larger span provides stability and a slightly larger turning radius compared with wings of the same size but lower aspect ratio. The wing tips are optimized to minimize ventilation when tilting, allowing sharper turns with a smaller radius at higher speeds without losing speed. The HA1450, the larger model in this series, is ideally suited for dock starts, pumping to take wave after wave, following shorelines or engaging wakes. When downwinding, ocean waves move faster in open water and slower in shallow or coastal areas. Moving faster through the water gives you more opportunities to choose a more efficient line. A smaller wing means less surface area and elevator, resulting in a higher minimum stall speed. The HA series wings are designed for lighter and more experienced riders who want to foil in fast-moving ocean fins.
