NeilPryde MXT SDM Extension

Used by most sailors on the PWA TOUR, the Mono-button mast base and extension system (MXT) is designed for secure, heavy-duty connection and ease of operation. Fully integrated with stainless steel cleat/pulley bases, the MXT extensions offer the best weight to stiffness ratio and create very light but also very strong extensions. The weight has been reduced by eliminating everything like unnecessary plastic while increasing the cross-sectional area of stainless steel parts for more strength. This part can now withstand 900 kg downhaul load - twice as much as used on the largest racing sails. The special geometry with pulley with tilt bottom allows perfect pulley/rope alignment. This allows the sail to be all repaired down (block-to-block) and it reduces reducing friction.
