Control and top speed - that's what it's all about if you want to be on the podium. The five 2025 Slalom boards - 62.5, 66, 72, 76 and 85 - are designed for racing at PWA race speed, taking buoys at full speed and maintaining control in the widest range of possible conditions.The extra control will also benefit lighter riders, keeping them in control even when fully overpowered, and allowing them to get to top speed quickly and maintain that speed.This year's 62.5 is a completely new design.

Optimizing weight is especially an issue on performance boards. So the new and groundbreaking S-TEC construction will also be used for JP's raceboards. The estimated the average weight reduction of the S-TEC for the Slalom is expected to reach 0.3 kilos. Whereas previous boards were already extremely light, any additional weight reduction that does is impressive!

This is achieved through the following changes:

• No paint
• Reduction of anti-slip, only used in standing areas
• Smaller and thinner pads - less EVA and less glue
• Sophisticated custom lamination process where fibers are individually prepared and laminated
• Durability remains at the proven level as all major reinforcements remain unchanged mainly due to the use of Biax-Carbon. Only items that have no relevance to strength and durability are reduced or abandoned. The other essential contribution to weight savings comes from the optimized lamination process which not only creates a totally new look, but the boards also weigh up to 300 grams lighter this year and contributes to better performance.

The double step cut-outs significantly improve control. The release starts with a shallow cut-out and gets deeper toward the tail of the board, constantly controlling water flow and reducing drag. The cut-outs also thin out the rails, making tilting the board and initiating the jibe at top speed much easier.

The raised apex point of the rail prevents nose jamming and adds control. The main benefit is that it creates more elevator in the turn, which increases float during the carve and prevents the board from slowing down, allowing the rider to maintain full speed through the turn.

The wider tail also helps maintain speed through jibs and significantly improves early planing and acceleration.

In short, the board is designed for surfers who want to achieve the highest speeds on the straight and in the jibe with ease and control.
